Pioneer Meadery produces barrel aged mead. One-of-a-kind meads.

The Pioneer Meadery, in Mackay, QLD, is very excited to be a commercially registered Meadery in the Whitsundays area, Queensland, Australia. Starting off as a ‘Micro Meadery’ at this time and producing 220ltr batches, as our traditional meads will be solely barrel aged. The taste profile of our mead will depend on what the barrel gives us back. Once a barrel has been bottled there will never be a mead produced quite like it again. A changing flavor profile with every barrel produced.

History

The Pioneer Meadery was founded in late 2023 and started production in March of 2024 with our first barreled batch of a Traditional Sweet mead and aged for 3 months in a French Oak barrel. Since then, we have made another 2 types of barreled mead ready for sale on the internet. (www.pioneermeadery.com.au). At this time, we are working out of a small industrial shed and looking to do extensions early next year. Figures crossed
