History

Mountain Mead was formed in December 2016 by Michael Cooke and Jacob Milner. Before setting up the business, Mike and Jacob had been making mead, wine and beer at home for many years and regularly met with friends to sample their latest homebrew. It was at one of these meetings that they decided to give up their jobs as electrician and tree surveyor and make mead full time. Mike bought Jacob out of the business in 2019 and now runs the business on his own.
