Under the Strážiště hill between Želivka and Blaník, the Machold family is a beekeeping and meadery, as well as producer of other unique bee products

They produced the first mead before they had their bees. They were enchanted by Slovak mead and wanted to try to produce it. They took honey from a local beekeeper and the first batch of mead was successful. The decision to start beekeeping was made only in 2006 and since then they have advanced very much. In addition to mead, they also produce Medutella, which is a healthy variant of the infamous Nutella. They also offer homemade syrups or roast teas.

Mead from Tomík is significantly fermented. It is now sweeter than previous batches, but we still rank them as semi-sweet.
