Traditional mead from Trencin

We make boiled mead, we use our own mixture of herbs and spices for flavoring, the cooking technology is slightly changed and a different mixture of herbs and spices is used for dark mead. Fermentation takes place at a temperature of 20-25°C.
Aging period 1 year.
Our own bee colonies produce approx. 5% of honey for the total production of mead.
Flower honey is used.

History

The beginnings of Trenčia mead production date back to 1973, when Ing. Milan Krivy st. worked out the recipe for its production. Over time, the recipe was refined to the form in which we know it now. He also participated as a co-organizer of the first year of the Včelár exhibition at the Trenčín Exhibition Center. In 1991, following a change in social conditions, the company EMKO s.r.o. was established, focused on the purchase and processing of bee products and the production of Trenčia mead. Dark mead has been produced since 2000.

We currently have our own bee colonies located in Melčice-Liesková in the number of 20 families.
