Beekeeping and mead production in the Hlinsko region

The owner of the company, Vladimír Saifr, started beekeeping only in middle age, sometime around 2007. At that time, he had a job in a textile company, a leasing company, a real estate company, state administration and self-government, and he needed a significant life change. Freedom and liberty is more than a regular salary in an organization.

In order to learn as much as possible about bees, he trained remotely in the field of Beekeeper at the Beekeeping School in Nasavrky in the years 2007-2009. It currently has about 60 beehives, which expand every year. The beehives are located in forests and meadows in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands around Hlinsko.

He started producing mead under the brand Medovinka, s.r.o. with his partner Marcel Gregor, but in 2016 he founded the company Včelařství Babákov and went his own way to make mead produced exclusively by the cold way. The offer includes new types of mead, of which lavender and propolis have gained the most popularity with our customers at Medovinárna. But they are all successful and I would recommend starting the tasting of basic Original mead and then linden.

Babákov Beekeeping also produces its own honey cosmetics.
