Danielle & Derek Busch opened Batch Mead in Nov 2019, to focus on small batch, single varietal meads with local honey and local fruit when possible. Our award-winning meadery provides several fan favorite meads including Viking's Mjod.

Derek & Danielle Busch have been enjoying mead for the last 10 years. Derek has created over 100 fermentations of mead and hard cider.

Derek started his journey brewing with a batch of Riesling wine that Danielle gave him as a Christmas gift back in 2013. This spurred his love of brewing and he started his first batch of mead.

Batch Mead is family owned and operated by just a few of us!

At Batch Mead we love locally sourced honey, apples and other ingredients. We focus on small batches to keep taps rotating and deliver delicious meads and hard ciders.

We recently won a Silver Medal from the Sunset Wine Competition (2021) and Best in Show from the San Diego International Beer Festival (2020).

History

Batch Mead was established in November 2019, by Derek and Danielle Busch. While they grew up in the midwest, they moved out to the west coast together in 2013. After pursuing careers in tech for almost 8 years, they decided to focus on their passion: mead. Educating the masses on mead and the versatility has established a community in Temecula, CA for mead.

Mead production

We produce over 52 meads a year with a mix of products. We love experimenting with fruit and spices. Our award winning pie mead series is a fan favorite that comes out every fall and typically includes pumpkin pie mead, apple pie mead, boysenberry pie mead and more.

Other products

We also craft hard ciders with local apples as well as some fruit wines.
